Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC)
Overview
Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) is a major government-owned convention and exhibition facility operating on a 12-hour daily schedule. The building runs a 1,260 RT installed chiller capacity (with 840 RT on duty) manufactured by Dunham Bush, serving comfort cooling demands across large event and exhibition spaces. As a government-linked facility under increasing pressure to demonstrate energy efficiency and sustainability compliance, MITC sought a retrofit solution that could improve chiller plant performance without replacing existing equipment or disrupting ongoing event operations. MSSB deployed its Mi-ACE system in August 2022, and the installation has since delivered consistent above-target performance that facility management cites as both reliable and verifiable.
Performance
• Projected savings target at contract: >12% annual energy savings
• Actual performance consistently exceeded projections from the first year
• YTD Savings Average: 17%
• Customer satisfaction and consistent performance highlighted by facility management as evidence of system reliability
• Operating conditions maintained: 12-hour operations, comfort cooling specification met throughout
